Tanger Outlet Center is a 270,000 square foot single-story outlet mall containing approximately 70 lease spaces and a canopy-covered outdoor pedestrian concourse. In keeping with Great Wolf Lodge, which is only hundreds of feet away, the entry features log columns, trusses and laminated wood decking giving the north woods appeal. The 27,000 man-hours started late October 2005 with completion slated for early August 2006. To maintain the extremely aggressive schedule, the most extensive, intensive use of prefabrication to date was used. In all, 40,000’ of conduit, 3,000 boxes, 2,000 fixture whips and 160,000’ of #12 THHN were built into prefabricated assemblies. What could’ve been an eight-month nightmare was in fact, truly a dream project.
