The Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel was a design/build project with all architectural and construction services performed by Roberts Construction Association, Inc. The construction phase was broken into demolition and construction. This project was located in the middle of the high-density student housing area on the University of Wisconsin — Madison campus. Maintaining automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic flow during the demolition and construction phases presented challenges due to ensuring safety of the general public while construction proceeded. The Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel was designed to minimize future operating and maintenance costs through the use of efficient mechanical and electrical systems, energy efficient windows, additional thermal insulation and low interior and exterior finishes. This $5,400,000 project was completed is 18 months.
