Built for the ages and rising above downtown Milwaukee's west side, the historic Milwaukee County Courthouse roof replacement project offered many unique challenges. These included staging for many separate roof levels at varying elevations requiring the use of our specialized tower crane. To avoid disruption to the courtrooms immediately below, all work was performed during the evening hours beginning at 9:00 p.m. and finishing at 4:00 a.m. the next day. Expansive HVAC equipment and ductwork made access to many roof areas difficult and cumbersome. Roof replacement entailed a new built-up roof system and associated copper architectural sheet metal details throughout.
