man owes a part of his time and money to the business in which

from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within
his sphere." - President Theodore Roosevelt
The Associated
General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee is dedicated to the
success of the construction industry and invite you to take action
and become involved. The Associated General Contractors of Greater
Milwaukee is the oldest, largest and most powerful commercial
contracting association in the state of Wisconsin. Chartered
in 1913 as the Concrete Contractors of Milwaukee, it was later
changed to the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee
when the Associated General Contractors of America was born in
1919.
AGC-GM
has a rich tradition of providing quality service to its 450
member companies. Consisting of general contractors, subcontractors,
specialty contractors, suppliers and service firms, AGC-GM serves
a significant membership base all united toward the growth and
well being of the construction industry. Over its long history,
AGC-GM has helped thousands of contractors and industry professionals
build smarter, safer and more profitably.
In our
quest to provide quality service to our members and the construction
community, AGC-GM continues to develop and fine tune the best
in training, education and safety programming. AGC-GM develops
and offers various education and training programs for middle
and upper management; accident and loss control through our safety
program; a field Supervisor Training Program; a labor-relations
program; a government-relations program and financial/accounting
counsel. We also manage a fully stocked plan room.
As we
build into the 21st century, we invite you to take part and learn
more about the benefits and services provided with membership
in the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee. Please

Safety
program
The Associated
General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee understands the importance
of construction safety and its relationship to the bottom line.
As a result, we operate a full-service safety program for our
members' use. Staffed with a safety director and an associate
safety director, we provide information and interpretation on
all safety issues. We also provide research and consultation
on all OSHA, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental
Protection Agency regulations. When necessary, we will have our
safety director provide advocacy and defend your interests as
a member of AGC-GM at meetings and conferences regarding safety
citations, (e.g. OSHA).
Our safety
program provides members with an abundance of publications, videos,
OSHA 10-hour course training and emergency first-aid training
and CPR. It also sponsors numerous seminars on safety and related
topics. Additionally, we sponsor Annual Safety Day, including
accredited seminars and workshops on emerging safety issues,
and we also provide specialized model safety programs on such
topics as hazard communication and lead and asbestos abatement.
We are committed to providing the highest quality and most timely
information on matters associated with safety.
Another
unique cost-saving benefit of membership is our Rent-a-Safety-Director
program. For those companies that do not have qualified safety
personnel on the job site, this AGC-GM benefit allows you, for
a members-only fee, to have AGC-GM's associate safety director
inspect your job sites on an as-needed basis. The associate safety
director will provide comprehensive inspections in a thorough,
cost-effective manner. (This service can be used as much or as
little as you need.) We at AGC-GM understand your safety needs
and we are prepared to satisfy them.
