Our vision

The Tri-County area will grow and prosper through the well-planned development of commercial construction projects that promote stable growth, employment and economic benefits for those who live and do business here. Through the fulfillment of our mission, the TCCA will provide the commercial contracting expertise, construction capabilities and people needed to support future growth and prosperity.

Mission statement

Provide the Tri-County area with a healthy and cost-competitive commercial construction industry by utilizing modern construction methods, techniques and materials that meet or exceed area specifications and practices. The TCCA will also maintain the highest ethical standards when dealing with customers, subcontractors, labor, suppliers and others with whom we work.

How we fulfill our mission

  • Search for and recruit new members who can help the TCCA grow and continue to be a valuable resource for the Tri-County area
  • Provide unified bargaining to achieve common contracts with the trade unions, assuring contractors and employees have agreements that are fair and equitable for all
  • Develop harmonious and equitable relationships between contractors and employees to assure high standards of workmanship
  • Provide a stable labor force and train or hire highly skilled workers
  • Provide a forum for members to express individual viewpoints and information relative to the continuance of a strong and healthy commercial construction industry
  • Foster cooperation and understanding between general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers for their mutual benefit, and for the benefit of our customers
  • Promote construction in the Tri-County area to assure continuing prosperity for our members, their employees and our neighbors

Member Benefits

Networking

Increase your visibility, generate new business opportunities and interact with others from the construction industry.

Monthly meetings

Held on the third Thursday of February-November, these meetings offer you an opportunity to hear a wide variety of interesting and informative speakers. The social hour preceding the meetings affords all an opportunity to interact with peers from the construction industry.

Annual membership dinner

Held in January, the meeting reviews the past year, looks at the coming year and recognizes those who have served on the board and on various committees.

Annual golf outing

This is an opportunity to entertain your employees and customers for a day on the links.

Special events

Past social events have included a night at the dog track, trips to baseball games and a summer cookout.

Business promotion

The Annual Buyers' Guide and Member Directory is published and distributed annually. The guide lists all members' companies and business categories.

Cellular phones and pagers

The TCCA Cellular Phone Program with Ameritech offers members very favorable rates and, in many cases, saves more than the cost of TCCA membership.

Skilled-trades activities

  • Coordinated bargaining. The TCCA bargains with the bricklayers', carpenters', masons' and laborers' unions to ensure fair and equitable agreements.
  • Representatives from our member companies sit on the various welfare and pension trusts and apprenticeship committees to ensure that member contributions are invested wisely.
  • TCCA recently initiated a major effort to ensure that our youth are exposed to careers in construction.

Information

TCCA publishes a quarterly newsletter to keep all members informed about association activities, important dates and construction-related issues.

RAMAC affiliation

Through its affiliation with the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce, TCCA provides its members with:

  • Access to management and supervisory training classes, teaching the basics of effective supervision;
