Purpose

The Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association supports the development, improvement and advancement of quality asphalt pavement. The organization provides technical information and training for its members and customers on asphalt pavement design, production and construction. The Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association has more than 100 member organizations including asphalt producers, contractors, aggregate producers, asphalt marketers, architects, highway consultants and other asphalt-related organizations throughout Wisconsin.

Recent Activities

In 2000, WAPA is continuing its usual activities but also is implementing the Wisconsin Hot Mix Asphalt Environmental Citizenship Program recognizing operations that go above and beyond environmental requirements in compliance, safety, noise, odor control, plant appearance and community relations.

WAPA also is teaching a two-day practical course for the eight Wisconsin Department of Transportation districts. The course will cover all facets of production and laydown of hot-mix asphalt.
