Editor’s Note The
magic numbers
The construction industry in Wisconsin works
in every corner of the state for every kind of owner imaginable. It's
constantly in contact with big cities, small villages, state agencies and, of
course, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It keeps in touch with
its associations and finds much of its work at plan rooms. A portion of the industry
represents a huge network of construction unions extending from the northernmost
reaches of the state to its southern borders. It's safe
to say that this industry has a lot of potential contacts. Each one is just a
phone call away, but finding the right number at the right time can be a painful
experience. And that's why we're giving you the Contractors'
Directory 2004. The following pages are packed with phone numbers, addresses,
fax numbers and contact names. We've listed 389 villages,
190 cities, 82 construction associations, 17 state agencies, 11 plan rooms and
the four Wisconsin OSHA offices. And we've packaged the information in a magazine
that fits nicely on a dashboard or crammed into a glove compartment or even rolled
up in a back pocket. Maintaining a solid network of communication
is crucial to success in this industry. We can't make the calls for you, but we
can put the magic numbers in your hands.
