at the Milwaukee Public Museum on Oct. 27 with about 150 people to make sure that
everyone recognized the achievements of these nine people and one company. Full

Church
and State
St. Joseph's had a year left to line up $8.8 million.
It made a $1.3 million deal with Walgreens to move out of its church on a prime
piece of property in downtown Fort Atkinson by January 2005, but St. Joseph's
needed another $7.5 million to build a new church and school on the edge of town.
After the congregation pitched in, there was still a deficit of around $4 million. Full

Works
It's right there on the state license plate. At
the top, sandwiched between the word "Wisconsin" and the farm is a boat.
The boat is nice, but the more important element is the blue line the boat is
resting on, symbolizing the state's many lakes and rivers. Wisconsin's waters
are as fundamental to the landscape as dairy farms, and plentiful fresh water
is a big reason people move to Wisconsin and stay. For generations, residents
and visitors have assumed that Wisconsin's water would be abundant and everlasting. Full

Lights
Columbia St. Mary's Hospital has big plans for its
Ozaukee campus in Mequon. Hospital leaders expect to break
ground on a 330,000-square-foot expansion project next summer. The addition, which
will include a new inpatient wing, an ambulatory care center and cardiovascular
