Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker won the Building Milwaukee Award from the Milwaukee Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry for his Grow Milwaukee County program, which includes the development of the Park East land. Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing Inc., Onalaska, won a Projects of Distinction Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin for the companys work on the EPIC Systems Corp. World Headquarters project in Verona. Prairie Tree Landscape Center, Elkhorn, won a Projects of Distinction Award for the companys work on the CMIS project in Madison. Stevens Construction Corp., Madison, won a Projects of Distinction Award for its work on the Pres Student Housing project in Madison. McGann Construction Inc., Madison, won a Projects of Distinction Award for its work on the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County-Allied Center project in Fitchburg. Bray Associates Architects Inc., Sheboygan, won a 2007 Wisconsin Golden Trowel Award from the International Masonry Institute for the companys design of Kohler High School in Kohler. The Madison Area Community Land Trust won the 2007 Livable Communities Award from the AARP and the National Association of Home Builders for the trusts home and community design of its Troy Gardens project. Miron Construction Co Inc., Neenah, won the 2007 Procter & Gamble Safety Excellence Award for achieving zero lost time, zero injuries and zero defect rates during the contractors work on the Procter & Gamble Wildfire project in Green Bay. Patricia Algiers, the owner of Milwaukee-based Patricia S. Algiers & Associates Inc., won the Crystal Star Award from the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for her contributions to the chapter andher service to the design community. On the HorizonVierbicher Associates Inc., Reedsburg, is preparing a design and cost estimate for the dredging of Lake Leota in Evansville. Pabst Boiler House LLC, Milwaukee, has a $550,000 Milwaukee Economic Development Committee loan to use toward the renovation of the old Pabst Engineering Department building in Milwaukee into office space. Eppstein Uhen Architects, Madison, is drawing up plans for an estimated $3.72 million baseball field and stadium at Warner Park in Madison. Ayres Associates Inc, Madison, is designing a new dam for Lake Wingra in Madison. The village of Clyman is seeking state approval for the construction of a new wastewater-treatment plant. The village of Mount Pleasant is setting an early budget for construction of a new municipal campus with a Village Hall, safety building, athletic fields, park space and a public works building. The Fontana Community Development Authority is in the early planning stages for construction of a new library and community center in Fontana. Isthmus Architecture Inc., Madison, is designing a $1 million to $2 million restoration of the historic Saxonia House for reuse as a retreat center in Farmington. Bloom Consultants LLC, New Berlin, has state approval for its design of an estimated $2.15 million parking ramp addition on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. River Architects Inc., La Crosse, is designing an estimated $7.82 million renovation of the Jim Dan Hill Library on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus. Somerville Inc., Green Bay, is proceeding with its design of an estimated $4.99 million renovation of the Baldwin Residence Hall on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus. Flad & Associates Inc., Madison, is moving forward with its plans for the estimated $116.95 million Biochemistry II Building on the UW-Madison campus. The Lakeland Animal Welfare Society, Elkhorn, is planning to raise money for construction of an estimated $5 million animal shelter in Elkhorn. Grumman-Butkus Associates, Wauwatosa, is the architect for an estimated $2.66 million, multibuilding chiller and tower replacement on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. Name ChangeCentral Wisconsin Engineers and Architects Inc., Weston, officially changed its name to CWE Inc. to reflect the company’s expansion beyond central Wisconsin to serve clients throughout the upper Midwest. B&B Electric Inc., Eau Claire, won a $2.45 million electrical contract for the sexually violent persons inpatient expansion project at the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center Correctional Facility in Mauston. August Winter & Sons Inc., Appleton, won a $2.24 million HVAC contract for the Sand Ridge job. Visu-Sewer Clean & Seal Inc., Pewaukee, landed a $2.17 million contract to improve wastewater collection and a lift station for the Torch Lake Area Sewage Authority in Houghton County, Mich. Michels Corp., Brownsville, won a $1.72 million contract to build a storm-sewer lining for Atlantic Street in Appleton. Miron Construction Co. Inc., Neenah, took home a $1.50 million contract for elevator-replacement projects on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Price Erecting Co., Milwaukee, landed a $1.06 million contract to upgrade a flocculator and replace sluice gates at the Linnwood Purification Plant in Milwaukee. Langer Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc., Milwaukee, won a $1.04 million contract to replace the roof at the John Marshall Education Complex in Milwaukee. Selzer-Ornst Co., Wauwatosa, was selected to expand and remodel a warehouse and showroom for The Boelter Companies in Glendale. In MemoriamLawrence Wolf, Dousman, died Nov. 6 of undisclosed causes. Wolf, 91, founded Wolf Construction Co. in 1941, and the company is still in operation in Oconomowoc as Wolf Paving.

Lawson employees continue their commitment to Second Harvest by
raising more than 65,000 meals.

Potter Lawson, Madison, raised 65,434 meals in its annual food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin. The food drive has raised more than 465,000 meals since 1989.
