Findorff & Son Inc., Madison, secured a $9.24 million contract to expand and renovate the University of Wisconsin-Rock County library in Janesville. Staab Construction Corp., Marshfield, landed a $1.14 million contract to construct improvements to a water-treatment plant in Rome. Staab also won a $3.29 million contract to construct a sanitary-sewer overflow facility in Duluth, Minn. Dorner Inc., Luxemburg, took home a $1.56 million contract for utility and street reconstruction work in Cedarburg. Dorner also won a $1.79 million contract for utility reconstruction work in Appleton. Payne & Dolan Inc., Waukesha, took home a $1.27 million contract for street construction projects in Oconomowoc. Payne & Dolan also won a $2.08 million contract to resurface streets in Madison. American Asphalt of Wisconsin, Mosinee, secured a $2.35 million contract for road construction work in Marathon County. Van Straten Construction, Green Bay, landed a $2.27 million contract for utility and street construction work in Fond du Lac. J&H Heating & Air Conditioning Co., Port Washington, will construct an HVAC replacement at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee after winning a $1.63 million contract for the job. Mared Mechanical Contractors Corp., Milwaukee, won a $1.59 million contract for an HVAC renovation at the War Memorial in Milwaukee. Altmann Construction Co. Inc., Wisconsin Rapids, landed a $1.52 million contract to expand and remodel a police station in Waupaca. Stark Asphalt Service Inc., Milwaukee, took home a $1.49 million contract for road surfacing work in Brookfield. Rawson Contractors Inc., Sussex, won a $1.42 million contract for sewer and water-main work in Whitefish Bay. Raymond P. Cattell Inc., Madison, secured a $1.41 million contract to resurface streets in Madison. Jossart Bros. Construction, De Pere, landed a $1.39 million contract for utility reconstruction work in Appleton. Ideal Builders Inc., Madison, will convert a building into a new police station in Waunakee after winning a $1.10 million contract for the job. Smith & Associates Inc., Brookfield, is providing pro bono services for a 1,800-square-foot activities and office building at the 64-acre site of Blue Lotus Farm and Retreat Center in Newburg. National Survey is doing visualization, landscape architecture and surveying work for the Metropolitan Builders Association, which is focusing on Blue Lotus as a 2007 philanthropic project.

Architects Group Ltd., Green Bay, is designing an estimated $4.78 million food service facility at the Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon. Benz Architecture Ltd., Sun Prairie, is working through the approval process for an estimated $7 million renovation of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in St. Francis into senior housing. Johnson Award for Distinction in Corporate Leadership from the Wisconsin Historical Society for Boldts work over the last 55 years building the business that his grandfather founded in 1889. Selzer-Ornst Co., Wauwatosa, won the Perfect Safety Award AGC Corporate for 2006 from the Milwaukee Construction Industry Safety Council for the companys commitment to health and safety. Rajan Sheth, president and CEO of Mead & Hunt Inc., Madison, won the Presidents Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies Wisconsin Chapter for his efforts on behalf of consulting-engineering firms in Wisconsin. Architect Cherie K. Claussen, Wauwatosa, won the 2007 Golden Award from the American Institute of Architects Wisconsin for her leadership and service advancing the architectural profession. Eppstein Uhen Architects Inc., Milwaukee, won the Architect of the Year Award from the American Subcontractors Association of Wisconsin. The ASA of Wisconsin also honored VJS Construction Services Inc., Pewaukee, with the General Contractor of the Year Award; Brian Marble of M. A. Mortenson Company, Brookfield, with the Superintendent of the Year Award; and Andie Rodenkirch of Hunzinger Construction Company, Brookfield, with the Project Manager of the Year Award. THIEL Design, Milwaukee, took home top honors at the Bell Awards banquet hosted by the Milwaukee chapter of the Business Marketing Association. THIEL won for its work on Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects' new corporate identity. Milwaukees Marquette Interchange reconstruction won a PRIDE Award in the Community Relations category from the American Road & Transportation Builders Association for the projects positive civic involvement. Richard A. Smith, president of Brookfield-based R.A. Smith and Associates Inc., won the Professional Achievement Award from the College of Engineering at Marquette University. Smith is a 1973 graduate of Marquettes College of Engineering and earned his graduate degree from Marquette in 1982. Kerzner Inc., Oconomowoc, won the Contractor of the Year Award in the Home Theater & Media Rooms Under $150,000 category from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. NARI also honored Diane Ausavich, the Milwaukee/NARI vice president with Milwaukee-based Carl Krueger Construction, with the 2007 Harold Hammerman Spirit of Education Award for the training she provides in the industry.
