ImageJames Macejkovic is executive vice president and chief information officer for Building Service Inc., Milwaukee, and recently was named president of the Allied Construction Employers Association. He also is involved with the Wisconsin Painting Contractors Association of Greater Milwaukee, the vocations and training committee of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee, The Floor Coverers Association of Southeastern Wisconsin and the Southeastern Wisconsin Drywall & Plastering Contractors. Macejkovic has more than 30 years experience in the construction field. He has been a partner with Building Service Inc. since 1985, working several positions, including vice president of special projects and training and vice president of construction and floor covering. Today, along with his chief information officer duties, Macejkovic serves as safety director. Projects he considers representative of his career include the Medical College of Wisconsin, Potawatomi Bingo Casino and The Grand Avenue Mall, all in Milwaukee.

Wisconsin Builder’s Burning Questions managed to catch up with Macejkovic in between his many engagements. No matter how busy he is, we had questions to ask, and this month, he answered them.

First thing you plan to do when it gets warm enough?

Put in the pier and boat at my lake cottage.

What dish have you tried to cook and failed at?

Fish on the grill without using a fish basket.

If you could be a character from a popular TV show, who would it be?

Gil Grissom from ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.’

If reincarnation exists what would you like to come back as?

A dog. Mine has a great life!

What about yourself would you like to improve?

Be a better networker at events.

What historical period would you like to live in?

The machine age. I’m an engineer at heart.

What scares you the most?

Being the low bid!

Word you commonly misspell?

February. I leave out the ‘R.’

The dream retirement?

A condo in Vegas!

Slot machines ringing!

Ties.

Favorite food you shouldn’t eat?

French Fries.

Keys to happiness?

Getting at least seven hours sleep, viewing problems as oppor-
tunities and Grey Goose (vodka) and cranberry on the rocks!
